MARS1 Composition

COMPOSITION

2D shapes used....Flat shape? Where are they?

Mars 1 is very clever, he draws 2D but the colours he uses then creates a 3D effect. Using contrast from light to dark it gives the 3D look. His work creates the illusion of a never ending look, like there is lots of overlapping and you don't know where it ends. In the distance where it feathers away and fades away to give the perspective look. I do believe there are 2D shapes but they are surrounded around 3D shapes which gives them the 3D look. For example Mars 1 might make a light blue flat circle but around that circle he would make another circle and make it slightly darker, repeating this with different colours, this gives the perspective look of either coming towards or going away from you.  My favourite part of  Mars 1's creations are the colours used which create some amazing looks.

Are his paintings balanced?

All of Mars 1's work are all balanced, they never look out of shape and they all look like it's meant to be. The balance comes from sync and it all works together.  The colours used helps balance his pieces as well because the same colours will be used all around the piece the make it all flow together. His pieces are so good to look at because you don't know where the starting point is which means it all flows and is equal. Everything bounces really well off another which gives the look of one whole piece. His pieces are so well thought out there is so detail, overlapping is also used so you don't see everything in his paintings the first time, each time you look at a Mars 1 piece you see something different every time.
